More Iroquois County Information

IN MY OPINION: Anyone seriously researching a family with strong roots in Iroquois County should run-not-walk to the nearest library and get their hands on a copy of Beckwith's History of Iroquois County. This is an OLD book, full of names, places, and events.

Patricia Goff , compiler of:
1) List of resources for Onarga Cemeteries and Mortality Lists and the Lehigh Cemetery, as well as information on German Mennonites from Russia (The Ratzlaff Project).
2) Original Essay on Allan Pinkerton, the detective, and his summer home in Onarga.
3) Russell Palmer Manuscript regarding Allan Pinkerton, Myths and Truths about The Larches.

OBITUARIES ON LINE Although The Daily Journal is in Kankakee County, it carries obituaries for a wide area. They are posted daily and archived since sometime in 1996. I do not know if they plan to publish any earlier archives.
