Military Rites for CHARLES H. AKERIGHT at Buckley Today
Full military funeral services for Charles Harry Akeright, 31, were to be held Thursday afternoon at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Buckley. The Kelley funeral home was in charge.
Mr. Akeright died at 10:45 p.m. Monday at the Paxton community hospital following an illness of eight weeks. Death was due to abscessed liver.
He was born November 1, 1918 in Buckley, the son of Harry and Meta Luhrsen Akeright, and attended the schools in that community. Prior to his death, he was employed as a bartender at the Reynolds tavern.
He is survived by his mother, and two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Kuebler of Cissna Park and Mrs. Thelma Strauss of Buckley, and several nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. John's church and of the Byron Hickerson Post No. 432, American Legion. He was a world War II veteran, entering the service in September, 1942, and spending two years overseas in France and England with the medical corps. He received his honorable discharge in January, 1946.

Rites Wednesday for MRS. AKERIGHT, 66, of Buckley
BUCKLEY (JNS) -- Mrs. Meta Akeright, 66, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday (1 Dec 1957) in the Community Hospital, Paxton, following an illness of about a month.
Mrs. Akeright was born March 18, 1891 in Buckley, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Luhrsen. She was married to Harry Akeright. He died Jan. 3, 1919.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Kuebler of Cissna Park and Mrs. Thelma Strauss of Buckley; her mother of Buckley; brothers, Adolph of Cissna Park, Richard of Buckley, Albert of Watseka, Alfred of Buchanan, Mich., and Edwin of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Mrs. N.R. McMillan of Glendale, Ariz., and Mrs. Pauline Rice of South Bend, Ind.; three grandsons and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her father and a son.
Mrs. Akeright was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Kelly Memorial Funeral Home, Buckley, and at 2 p.m. in St. Johnn's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Walther Eissfeldt officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

MELVIN FRANKLIN ALCORN
Leaves Widow and Five Children
Tragedy struck the family of Melvin F. Alcorn, 33, Pittwood, Early Christmas Eve when he was instantly killed as he drove his car into the side of a C.&E. I. Fast northbound passenger train at the W. Walnut street crossing about 6 o'clock.
An inquest into the death will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Eastburn Funeral Home, announced Coroner Verne K. Bussert of Sheldon.
Jurors named were Kenneth Keath, Charles Doran, Earl Beaver, William Mull, Fred Donovan and Guy Stem.
Alcorn had just received his check from the state highway department by whom he was employed, and had purchased Christmas gifts for his wife, Rena, and five small children, and was on his way home when the tragedy occurred.
The impact of the collision carried the car north down the tracks from the Walnut street crossing to within a few yards of the Oak street crossing. The car was almost totally demolished and the body, terribly mangled, was taken to Iroquois Hospital in the Eastburn Ambulance.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Prairie Dell Church, with the Rev, E. S. Worley officiating and interment was in Prairie Dell Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 28, 1907 in Gifford, Il. A son of Frank and Vernie Barber Alcorn and has resided in Pittwood for several years. His wife, who with five children survive, was the former Rena Baumgardner
Several witnesses to the accident, including members of the train crew, are to testify at the inquest tomorrow.
Investigation revealed that Alcorn had evidently made no attempt to halt his car but had driven straight into the train, striking the third coach back of the engine. (Contributed by Lucy )

Watseka--Wesley Pearl Alcorn, 64, formerly of Watseka ,died Saturday, Feb. 3, 1996 at Livonia, Mich.
Private family services will be held Tuesday at Baier Funeral Home, Watseka, with the Rev. Joseph Hughs officiating.
Burial will be in the Prairie Dell Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
He was born April 2, 1931 in Watseka, the son of Melvin and Rena Boomgarden Alcorn.
Surviving are two sons, Brian of Livonia, and Terry of Detroit Mich; Two step-daughters of Michigan, his mother, Rena Alcorn of Watseka; several Grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin of Watseka and Jerry of Bourbonnais; three sisters, Lola Arnold and Carol DeLahr of Watseka and Judith Crouch of Milford; and several Nieces and Nephews.

THOMAS ALTHAUS
Thomas Althaus died Sunday, March 16, 1902, morning of pnuemonia. He had been sick several weeks. He was one of the brave soldier boys who fought so gallantly at the battle of San Juan Hill and in the Phillipines. He leaves a wife and a host of friends to mourn his loss. He was buried in Maple Grove cemetery, the funeral being in charge of the Modern Woodmen of which he was a member. (Contributed by Cheryl)

Beverly (Rutledge) Anderson, 38, lifelong resident of the Elliott - Gibson City area, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday 2-21-1979 at her home of an apparent heart attack. Robert Boyce, Ford County coroner, conducted an inquiry. Mrs. Anderson's funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gibson City United Methodist Church, the Rev. Curtis Lindquist and the Rev. James Bortell officiating. Burial will be in Gibson City Cemetery. Visitaiton will be from 6 - 9 tonight at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. , with Elliott Amvet Auxiliary rites at 9 p.m. She was born 3-11-1940, near Gibson City, a daughter of Glenn and Irene Barnes Rutledge. She married John E. Anderson 3-11-1957 at Elliott. He survives Also surviving are two daughters, Amy and Jodi, both at home; a son, Steven, at home; her parents, Gibson City; two sisters, Maruine Ogle, Paxton and Ruby Bennett, Gibson City; and three brothers, Harold and Charles Rutledge, both of Gibson City, and Howard Rutledge, Elliott. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Elliott United Methodist Church, Elliott Amvets Auxiliary and Gibson City OES. MICHAEL E. "BUTCH" ALLEN
55, of Loda, died at 9 a.m. Saturday, 10-5-2002 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, with the Rev. John Davenport officiating. Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda. Visitation was private. Mr. Allen was born 7-28-1947 at Urbana, a son of Harry E. and Pattie M. "Mickey" Hook Allen. He moved to Rantoul from Xenia, Ohio, and then to Paxton before moving to Loda. He married Patricia A. McConnell 9-9-1979, in Fisher. She survives. Also surviving are his parents of Paxton; two sons, Thomas Houser of Loda and Michael (Jennifer) Allen of Gibson City; two daughters, Wendy (Jamie) Marks of Reidsville, NC and Tammy (Joe) Simms of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren, and one sister, Pamela (Leonard) Powell of Finksburg, MD. Mr. Allen graduated from Paxton High School in 1965. He was a supervisor at Central Soya Gibson City, for 31 years. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. Mrs. (Robert) Agnes A. Adamson of 422 S. Taft Street passed away Friday 4-10-1953 at 7:20 pm. at the family home. She had been ill for the past year. Funeral services for the 77-year-old Paxton woman were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. from the Brown funeral home with the Rev. Marshall Williams of Wayland, Mich. officiating. The Reverend Williams is a former pastor of the Paxton Westminster Bible Church. Interment followed the service in Glen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Russell Porter, Kernon Watts, George Tibbey, A. Carlson, Doc I. Jones and Cecil Curtis. Mrs. Adamson, a resident of Paxton since 1913 was known as a lovable Christian woman and will be genuinely missed by her many friends in the community. Agnes Aurella Russell was born on 8-15-1875 at Chicago, the daughter of Adam and Mary Agnes Roach Russell. Her childhood was spent in Chicago where she attended public schools. The deceased was joined in marriage with Robert Adamson on 12-25-1901 at Chicago. The couple lived in Michigan before moving to Paxton in 1913. Mrs. Adamson was a member of the Westminster Bible Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Marian Russell, and two brothers, Robert Russell and Frank Russell. Surviving relatives in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Irene of Paxton; Mrs. W.A. (Dorothy) Marbaugh of Wheaton and Ruth of Decatur; three grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Hersheman of Houston, TX and Mrs. F.L. Alman of Austin TX.

Aged 90, of 646 E. Pells, Paxton, died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday 1-10-1993 at the Ford County Nursing Home, Paxton, where she had been a resident three weeks. She had been in failing helath three years. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, with Rev. Donald W. Rackley and Rev. Marshall Williams officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton, and visitation will be Tuesday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Miss Adamson was born 12-22-1902, at Mattawan, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Agnes Russell Adamson. Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Marbaugh, Hendersonville, NC, Ruth Potter, Canton, three nieces, Marty Marbaugh, a missionary in Niger, Africa, Ruth Marbaugh, Phoenix, AZ and Martha Scott, Hendersonville. Miss Adamson attended primary grades in Colon, Mich., and graduated from Paxton High School in 1923. She was employed by A.J. Laurence and sons of Paxton for 38 years. She also had been employed by Jos. Kuhn and Co. Champaign for 10 years. Miss Adamson was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Paxton, and the Women's Missionary of the church, and at one time had taught Sunday school. ROBERT ADAMSON passed away at his home near Roberts, Il, Monday 6-30-1919, after an illness of a long duration. He was aged 90 years, 10 mos. and 79 days. The funeral occurred on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Roberts Congregational Church. Rev. Carl Glover officiating. The deceased was the father of Mrs. Aaron Kenward of Paxton and he was an honored and respected citizen of that community who will be greatly missed.

ELIZABETH WILLIS ADAMSON

MRS. ELIZABETH (WILLIS) ADAMSON passed away on Wednesday night 3-12-1924 at her home between Roberts and Thawville at 9:30 o'clock at the age of 78 years and 10 mos. The deceased was one of the early pioneer citizens of this community and was a good Christian woman loved by all. Her husband died in 1919, and left to mourn her loss besides the large number of warm friends are the children, Mrs. Aaron Kenward, of Fargo, ND., Joseph Adamson, of Thawville and William Adamson who resides on the home place. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home, Rev. Abbott, of Thawville, officiating. Burial occured at Lyman cemetery.

Aged 87, a rural Anchor resident, graduate of Drummer Twp High School, Gibson City, died Friday, 1-1-1993 at his daughter's home in Agoura Hills, Calif. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor. The Rev. Melvin C. Blobaum will officiate. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City,and for one hour before the service Friday at the church. He was born 2-28-1905 in Sibley, a son of Leon and Elizabeth Nierstheimer Ashley. He married Rosalena Beecher 6-6-1929 in Anchor. She died 12-23-1985. Survivors include two sons, Norman, Sibley, and Wesley, Gibson City; one daughter, Sherilyn Bathgate, Agoura Hills, Calif.; one brother, Francis, Miami, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson and one sister. He graduated from Drummer Twp High School in 1925 and farmed in the Sibley-Anchor area. Mr. Ashley served as Sunday school superintendent at St. John's Lutheran Church and was on the church board as secretary-treasurer and president. He was a member of the Ashley County School Board for six years. He was leader of the Burr Oak 4-H Club for 15 years. He also helped organize the S.W. Sullivant Twp soil conservation district. Mr. Ashley was a member of the Ford County Farm Bureau board for 10 years and served on the Gibson Community Hospital board for 20 years. Charles A. "Chuck" Anderson, 69, of 530 W. Center St., Paxton, died at 2:03 p.m. Saturday 1-4-2003 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Knapp-Miller Funeral Home, Paxton, the Rev. John Davenport officiating. Burial was in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Visitation was from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Anderson was born 1-8-1933, in Paxton, a son of Olaf and Esther Boyer Anderson. He married Audrey Gritten in 1952 in Rantoul. He later married Jean Burklund 7-28-1979, in Paxton. Surviving are two sons, Newton (Rita) Anderson of Paxton and Bill (Laura) Anderson of Rantoul; one daughter, Samantha (Dale) Williams of Tuscola; one brother, Clifford Anderson of Lincoln; one sister, Karna Normile of Paxton; one stepson, Steve (Renae) Burklund of Paxton; one stepdaughter, Linda (Rex) Roy of Paxton; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Fox and Mary Ann Bennett; and one grandson, Ryan Anderson. Mr. Anderson had been employed by Anderson Farms for 43 years. He was a member of the Paxton Bowling Association Hall of Fame, was a past member of Lakeview County Club and the Rantoul Moose Lodge. He enjoyed bowling and golf and looking for arrowheads. WARREN ALBERS
Melvin: Warren E. Albers, 77, of rural Melvin, died at 12:30 pm. Saturday 1-4-2003 at his home. A chapel service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Skyline Memorial Park, Monee. The Rev. David Bogda officiated. There was no local visitation. Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, handled arrangements. Mr. Albers was born 3-21-1925 at Monee, the son of George and Clara Ruhbeck Albers. He married Irene Hoger 2-19-1949 at Tinley Park. She survives. Also surviving are four nieces and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Mr. Albers attended Green Garden Twp county schools, Monee. He and his wife moved to rural Melvin in 1973, where he farmed and also did trucking. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Melvin, a former Wall Twp trustee and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing golf. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Melvin.

Melvin - Gregory Todd Arends, 17, Melvin, died at 7:38 a.m. Friday 1-17-2003 at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City. Private services will be conducted, the Rev. Paul Thomason officiating. Burial will be in Melvin Cemetery. A public memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at GCMS Middle School, Gibson City. Mr. Arends was born 3-4-1985 at Gibson City, a son of Randal and Bonnie Shetler Arends. They survive. Also surviving are his twin brother, Stephen Craig Arends; his paternal grandfather, Daniel G. Arends of Gibson City; his maternal grandparents, Les and Frances Shetler of Goshen, Indiana; a local uncle, aunt and cousins, Ronald and Allison Arends, Trent and Tyler of Melvin; and many other uncles, aunts and cousins. His paternal grandmother, Verna Arends, preceded him in death. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and computers as he listened to his music collection. He was a member of FFA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Gibson City Bible Church, and Sangamon Valley church youth groups. He and his brother were co-captains of the GCMS golf team. He had recently chosen to become a member of Gibson City Bible Church. He was known for his sense of humor and his faith in Christ. Mildred Aileen Allen, 80, Gibson City, died at 5:08 a.m. Thursday 1-30-2003 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Gibson City. Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation was from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Allen was born 11-27-1922 at LeRoy, a daughter of Harley Hilton and Letha VanDeventer Scott. She married L. Eugene Allen on 10-22-1939 at St. Charles, Mo. He survives Other survivors include four sons, Kenny (Bonnie) Allen, Gibson City, Lenny (Kathy) Allen, Concord, Calif., Gary (Lynn) Allen, Gibson City and Kelley (Robbie Lee) Allen, Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Beverly (Jack) Fields and Kathy Jo Rutledge both of Gibson City; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Leona Meyers, Ford Collins, Colo.; Carol Bottles, LeRoy; and Dode Allen, Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and two brothers. Mrs. Allen helped with farming and had worked at the Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City in the laundry department. ELMER C. ASHER
The graveside funeral service for Elmer C. Asher, 83, of Gibson City will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City, the Rev. Wayne Shelksohn officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568 of Gibson City. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. He died at 6:35 p.m. Thursday 4-12-2001 at the Gibson Area Hospital Annex. Memorials may be made to the Gibson Area Hospital Annex. Mr. Asher was born 2-4-1918 at Gibson City, a son of Archie and Louise Pfieffer Asher. He married Madelon A. Roberts on 6-6-1942 at Washington DC. She died 4-21-2000. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Gordon) Chase, St. Paul, MN, and a son, Gary (Shirley) Asher, Byron. Also surviving is a grand- daughter, Kim Asher, Byron. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Asher graduated form Drummer Twp High School in Gibson City in 1935, and attended Gallagher School of Business in Kankakee. He worked for Buda Co. in Harvery until he joined the US Army Air Corps in 1941. He graduated from OCS Miami Beach, and served in WWII until his discharge in 1945. He started farming near Gibson City. In 1951 he was recalled to active duty in the USAF during the Korean War and served in Japan and the Philippine Islands. He was discharged in 1953 and he, his wife and his two children returned to farming near Gibson City until his retirement in 1996.

WILLIAM R. ANDERSON
The funeral for William R. "Bill" Anderson, 86, of Gibson City will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. The Rev. Randall Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He died at 7:35 a.m. Monday 7-22-2002 at the Gibson Area Hospital Annex in Gibson City. Memorials may be made to Gibson City United Methodist Church. He was born 2-16-1916 at Gibson City a son of Carl William and Helen Barber Anderson. Survivors include five cousins, Janice Crawford, Bremerton, Wash.; Sandie Cambell, Bremerton, Wash.; Helen Anderson, Skokie; Charlie Anderson, Bremerton Wash.; and John Anderson, Wildwood. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Andrson was born in Gibson City, graduating from Drummer Twp High School in 1933. In 1937, Mr. Anderson received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from DePaul University. While in Chicago, Mr. Anderson studied drama at the Chicago Art Institute's Goodman Theatre, performing throughout the Midwest as a member of the Goodman Theatre Players Traveling Troupe. During WWII, Mr. Anderson served in the US Army in France and Germany with the 914th Field Artillery Battery. After the war, Mr. Anderson returned to Gibson City where he farmed until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of the Gibson City Rotary, Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568 and a life-long member of the Gibson City United Methodist Church.

MRS. C. ARSENEAU
Kankakee Resident of Six Years Dies
Mrs. Clarence Arseneau, 54 442 South Rosewood avenue, died at her home about 10:25 a.m. today after an illness of six months. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick church and interment will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The Altar and Rosary society, of which Mrs. Arseneau was a member, will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Senesac funeral home where friends may call after 12 o'clock noon Saturday and until the hour of the rites. Mrs. Arseneau, a resident of the city for the past six years and of the county for 16 years, was born April 13, 1885 at Beaverville the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hubert. She was married to Clarence Arseneau who survives. Other survivors are her mother, Mrs. Mary Hubert: two daughters, Mrs. Lester Caillouette of Bradley and Mrs. Alvin Mann of Kankakee; three sons, Melvin and Lloyd, both of Kankakee and Roland, stationed with the navy at Bethesda, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Frank Frontzak of Blue Island; a brother, George of Blue Island and three grandchildren.

CAMILLE ARSENEAU
Camille C. Arseneau, 93, 244 E. Hickory St., a retired farmer and longtime resident of the Kankakee area, died at 1:03 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Hospital following a two-month illness. Mr. Arseneau was born April 19, 1888, at Martinton to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Arseneau. He was married Oct. 15, 1916, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Beaverville, to the former Monique Cote, who died Oct. 26, 1955. He is survived by a sister, Anna Boudreau of Clifton and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers and one sister are deceased. Mr. Arseneau was a graduate of the old Martinton country school. He farmed in the Beaverville area for 35 years before retiring in 1945. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at the Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Church. The Rev. Raymund Field, church pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today.

T. Daquin Arseneau, 77 642 S. Evergreen Ave., died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fontableu Nursing Center following a three-year illness. He was born March 8, 1902, in Beaverville to Mr. and Mrs. Valerie Arseneau. He was married Feb. 11, 1924, at St. Mary's Church, Beaverville, to the former Aldia Dionne. She died in November 1950. He was married in March 1952 to the former Helen Kirchman. She died in 1978. Mr. Arseneau was a bus driver in Kankakee for 30 years. Surviving are two sons, Ronald Arseneau of Bourbonnais and Farrell S. "Red" Arseneau of Kankakee; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Marilyn Coffman of Bradley; three brothers, Lomer of Calumet City, Clayton of Kankakee and Dellis of Carlisle, Ark., and three sisters, Evelyn Pilotte of Martinton, Lila Regnier of Florida and Phyllis Martin of Bradley. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maternity BMV Church. Visitation at the Clancy Funeral Home will be from 2 p.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. A memorial in Mr. Arseneau's name has been established for the elevator fund of the Kankakee Knights of Columbus.

Mrs. Viola Arseneau, 56, 884 S. Evergreen Ave., died at 7 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Arseneau was the wife of Mose Arseneau, owner of the Kankakee Motor Coach Co. The body is in the Senesac Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. today and until time of services. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's Church and burial will be in Mount Calvery Cemetery. Mrs. Arseneau was born Dec 2, 1900, in Papineau, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Red Bovie. She was married in 1919 to Mose Arseneau and had lived in Kankakee the past 30 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters. Mrs. Joseph LeClaire and Mrs. William F. Shea of Kankakee, a son, Mose Arseneau Jr., stationed at Langley Air Force Base, Va.; three grandchildren; and her mother, Mrs. Della Bovie of Kankakee. Mrs. Arseneau was a past senior regent of the Women of the Moose and was president of the Woman's Benefit Association.

Watseka (cns) Mrs. Frieda B. Callahan Albright, 80 of Winter Haven, Fla. formerly of Watseka, died Monday , July 24, 1972 at the Winter haven hospital. Born May 13, 1892, at Milford, She was the daughter of Dale and Leota Thomas Callahan. She was married May 30, 1937 at Quincy to Lester Graeme Albright who survives. Mrs . Albright, who had attended Illinois State University at Normal, taught in the Iroquois County School system for 30 years. She retired in 1954 and then moved to Winter Haven. She was a member of the Milford Christian Church and a 50 year member of Golden Chapter 56, Order of the Eastern Star, Milford. Also surviving are two brothers, Darleigh S. Callahan of Watseka and Clifford C. Callahan of Milford; two nieces, two great-nieces an two great nephews all of California. Services were at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Ottlaughlin funeral home in Winter Haven. The body is being brought to the DeValk Funeral Home in Watseka, where services will be at 2 P.M. Friday . The Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford.

A lifelong resident of Kankakee County, Mrs. ALFREDIA ARSENEAU, 86, died at a Kankakee nursing home at 9 a.m. Friday after a year's illness. She had lived in Kankakee the past 50 years. She was born Jan. 20, 1888 in Donovan, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. NAPOLEON LaFOND. Her husband, EDWIN ARSENEAU, died in 1942. She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Bernetha Rogers of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Gladys Odette of Sun Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Bernadette Betourne of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sons, Rosewell and Rowland, both of Kankakee; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mrs. Lucille Savoie of Kankakee. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Church with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at Senesac Funeral Home from 2 to 9 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Mrs. Arseneau was a member of the Council of Catholic Women, the Ladies of St. Anne Society and the Council of St. Cecile.

Rites Saturday For Mrs. AMANDA ARSENEAU, 76
Mrs. AMANDA ARSENEAU, 76, of 627 S. Poplar Ave. died Thursday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. PROSPER BERNARD, she was born on June 11, 1885, in L'Erable. She later moved to Ottawa where she was married to EDWARD D. ARSENEAU, who survives, on Nov. 19, 1908. She lived in Ottawa for five years before moving to Kankakee where she had resided since. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Church, and interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will begin after 3 p.m. today at Hickey Funeral Home. Members of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Patrick's Church, of which Mrs. Arseneau was a member, will meet at the funeral home for recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. today.

A lifelong residence of the Kankakee area, EDWARD D. ARSENEAU, 89, of 627 S. Poplar, died this morning at a nursing home after a long illness. He had retired from Kroehler Mfg. Co. after 49 years. George F. Arseneau Sr., 73, 229 E. Marsile St., a lifelong resident of Bourbonnais died at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Hospital. He had been ill for a short time. The son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Arseneau, he was born Dec. 8, 1898 at Bourbonnais. a baker, he had been associated with the Arseneau Bakery, Bourbonnais and for many years was employed as a baker at a local hospital. He retired in 1965. WATSEKA -- Visitation for Chester "Chet" A. Arseneau, 96, of Watseka, will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne, with an 8 p.m. wake service. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin's Church in Martinton. Rev. Robert Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Martinton. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Iroquois County. Mr. Arseneau died Friday (March 29, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital Resident's Home in Watseka. Mr. Arseneau was a retired grain farmer and a Pioneer Seed Corn representative. He was born Feb. 26, 1906 in Beaverville, the son of Edward and Adele Regnier Arseneau. His wife, the former Isabelle Castongia, whom he married Sept. 14, 1925 at St. Mary's Church in Beaverville, died March 25, 1991. Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Romeo Arseneau of Martinton, Evelow and Nancie Arseneau of Crown Point, Ind.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, June and Maynard Hartlep of Watseka, Mae Redman of Hillsboro, N.M., Joyce and Richard Martell of Kankakee; two sisters, Vernall Girod of Kankakee, Verilda Arseneau of Beaverville; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. One daughter, Betty-Jean Lade; two sons-in-law, Murl Lade and William Redman; one daughter-in-law, Iona Arseneau; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin, Howard and Ivan; and one sister, Viola Castongia, are deceased. Mrs. Clarence Arseneau, 54 442 South Rosewood avenue, died at her home about 10:25 a.m. today after an illness of six months. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick church and interment will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The Altar and Rosary society, of which Mrs. Arseneau was a member, will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Senesac funeral home where friends may call after 12 o'clock noon Saturday and until the hour of the rites. Mrs. Arseneau, a resident of the city for the past six years and of the county for 16 years, was born April 13, 1885 at Beaverville the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hubert. She was married to Clarence Arseneau who survives. Other survivors are her mother, Mrs. Mary Hubert: two daughters, Mrs. Lester Caillouette of Bradley and Mrs. Alvin Mann of Kankakee; three sons, Melvin and Lloyd, both of Kankakee and Roland, stationed with the navy at Bethesda, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Frank Frontzak of Blue Island; a brother, George of Blue Island and three grandchildren.

Joseph Arthur Arseneau, 89, of Bradley, died Friday (May 31, 2002) at Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home.

A retired employee of the Jaffe Drug Store, Helen Arseneau, 72, died at 1:45 a.m. today, at a Kankakee nursing home. Mrs. Arseneau of 160 n. Blaine Ave., Bradley, had been ill for three months. Kankakee Businessman MOSE J. ARSENEAU Dies
Mose J. Arseneau Sr., 73, RR 7, a Kankakee businessman for many years, died at 6 a.m. today at St. Mary's Hospital following a short illness. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Valerie Arseneau, he was born Feb. 23, 1899 in Beaverville and was a lifelong resident of this area. From 1932 to 1957 Mr. Arseneau owned and operated the Kankakee Motor Coach Co. A real-estate developer, he established and developed the Skyline subdivision. He had served as president and as a trustee of the Kankakee Township Fire Department and was one of the founders of the Exline Sportman's Club. An active member of the Kankakee Loyal Order of the Moose 802, he was the oldest living past governor of the local lodge. His first wife, the former Viola Bovie, died Nov. 24, 1956. Survivors include his wife the former Lucille Wolfe, whom he married Nov. 25, 1957; son Mose Jr. of Kankakee and William of Fr. Wayne, Ind.; daughters Mrs. Yvonne LeClaire of Kankakee, Mrs. Robert Christiansen of Tucson, Ariz, Mrs. Phyllis Martin of St. Anne and Mrs. Angelina Nourie of Bourbonnais; brothers Clayton and Dacquin both of Kankakee, Lomar of Steger and Dellis of Carlisle, Ark.; sisters Mrs. Evelyn Pilott of Martintown; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
