Sadie Trusheim of Buckley dies Wednesday
Sadie Trusheim, 87, of Buckley, died Wednesday at 2:20 a.m. at Cole Hospital in Champaign where she had been apatient since Dec. 15.
She was born Aug 2 1888, at St. Joseph, I11., the daughter of Bartel andGebka Duitsman Bartell. She attended St. Joseph schools and moved to Buckley in 1901.
She was married to Edward Trusheim on Feb. 10, 1908 at Buckley St. John's Lutheran Church. Hepreceded her in death onMay 30, 1951.
Surviving are one son, Russell Trusheim, San Le Andro, Calif., one daughter, Gladyce Kruger, Springfield, five grand-children, six great-grandchildren one sister, Mrs.Ray Krumwiede, Buckley, two brothers, John, Buckley, and Barney, Gifford, Ill.
Preceding her in death were one daughter and one infant daughter, and one infant brother.
Mrs. Trusheim was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley and St. Johns's Ladies Aid.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley with the Rev James E. Brammeier officiating and burial in St. John's cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home in Buckley.

Theda Tholen
Theda Tholen, 80, Cissna Park, died at 12:25 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 1 at Prairieview Lutheran Home, Danforth.
She was born Sept. 6, 1900 at Ashkum, the daughter of John and Christena Osterhaus Hankey. She married Emil Krumwiede at Buckley on Dec. 19, 1917. He died June 11, 1940. She married Henry Tholen on Nov. 5, 1942 and he died Sept. 11, 1954.
Survivors include a daughter, Verna Heimlich, Cissna Park; a son, LeRoy Krumwiede, Clifton; three step-daughters, Irene Bungard, Denver, Colo., Edna Froidcouer, Melvin and Helen Lambert, Gilman; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Frank Hankey, Milford, Elmer Hankey and Henry Hankey, Watseka; five sisters, Grace Stam, Sheldon, Alma Schult, Woodworth, Charlotte Redeker, Crescent City, Anna Shafer, Watseka and Mark Geiken, Milford. A son preceded her in death.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Cissna Park, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Dale Kleimola will officiate with burial at St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Buckley.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Knapp Funeral Home, Cissna Park. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Building Fund or to Prairieview Lutheran Home.

Crescent City Woman's Funeral Held Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. Fredericka Theesfeld, 60, who died Thursday morning after a five-day illness at her home in Crescent City, were held Sunday afternoon at the home and the St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Rev. H.E. Bruns officiating. Burial in charge of the L.B. Segur Co. was in the church cemetery.
Born in Luedersburg, Germany, Nov. 8, 1880, a daughter of Friede and Barbara Hasbargen, she came to this country with her parents as a small child and attended the parochial school at Buckley.
She was married Nov. 24, 1897 to Ulrich Theesfeld, who survives with the following children: Henry and Zerca, at home, Lena Craft, Gilman; Kate Rapp, Pontiac; Minnie and Dan Theesfeld, Gilman; Martin Theesfeld, Ashkum; Annie Thompson of Milford.
A sister, Mrs. Kate Hendrichs, Crescent City, and two brothers, Dan of Sheldon and Cornelius of Kankakee also survive.

Kathryn Theesfeld
DANFORTH -- Kathryn D. Theesfeld, 80, of Danforth, died Sunday (Oct. 30, 1994) at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth where she had been a resident for eight years.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Redenius Funeral Home in Golman and for one hour prior to services at the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Danforth. The Rev. Raymond Barclay will officiate.
Burial will be in Danforth Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in her name to the donor's choice.
She was born July 27, 1914 in Ashkum, the daughter of Phillip and Sena Ewerks Hilgert.
She was raised and educated in Ashkum schools and was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Danforth.
Her husband, Theodore "Tip" Theesfeld, whom she married Oct. 16, 1930 in Chebanse, died Aug. 7, 1989.
She had worked for 20 years for Central Dress Company, Gilman.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Lorraine Theesfeld, Gilman; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Norma and George Gersch of Essex, Beverly Eimen of Danforth and Judy and Dick Jameson of Jacksonville, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters,, Alma Peeken of Ashkum, Mildred Volling of Joliet and Hazel Metz of Kankakee; two brothers, Merle Hilgert of Springfield, Mo., and Robert Hilgert of Gilman.
Deceased are four brothers, two sisters, one grandson, Daniel Whitlow and one great-great-grandchild.

Wanita Theesfeld
Wanita J. Theesfeld, 80, Watseka, died at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 1987, at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.
She was born Nov. 12, 1906, at Crescent City, the daughter of John and Laura Hogle. She was married to Henry Theesfeld on March 3, 1949. He died in January, 1971.
Survivors include one brother, Laurence of Watseka; one sister, Clara Minard of Watseka; and four nephews, Jerry Minard, Maurice Minard and Curtis Minard, all of Watseka, and Roger Minard of Clifton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Cecil Minard Jr.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at DeValk Funeral Home, Watseka. The Rev. Ronald G. Budd will officate with burial in Body Cemetery, Woodland.
Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Buckley -- Laura L. Theesfeld, 83, of Buckley died at 5:48 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 29, 1993) at Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, after a six-month illness.
Her funeral was Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, the Rev. Gunard Heikkila officiated. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley.
Organist was Eileen Janssen. Flower ladies were Evadell Johnson and Verna Johnson.
Pallbearers were Charles Johnson, Richard Johnson, Owen Theesfeld, Allen Johnson, Gene Johnson and James Theesfeld.
Visitation was Monday at Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Buckley, and for an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Theesfeld was born May 31, 1910 in Buckley, a caughter of Claude and Mathilda Krumwiede Johnson. She married Alwin Theesfeld Dec. 3, 1933, in Buckley. He died Oct. 29, 1972.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlene (Ted) Reynolds, Paxton; a sister, Lillian Theesfeld, Buckley; four grandchildren; Susan (Kevin) Hanson, Paxton; Mike (Chris) Reynolds, Loda; Greg Reynolds, Riverdale; and Steve (Connie) Reynolds, Paxton; and seven greaet-grandchildren.
A son and three brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Theesfeld attended Loda Grade and High schools. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church; the Lutheran Layman's League; the Ladies Aid of the church; Flying Needle Club; the Twenty Club; and Buckley Senior Citizens, all of Buckley.
Memorials may be made to her church, the Covenant Hospice program or a charity of the donor's choice.

Lillian Theesfeld
Buckley -- Lillian A. Theesfeld, 84, of rural Buckley, died at 8:49 a.m. Friday (Dec. 8, 1995) at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley. The Rev. Chares E. Johnson and the Rev. Gunard Heikkila officiated. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Buckley, and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
Mrs. Theesfeld was born Sept. 15, 1911, in rural Buckley, a daughter of Claude and Mathilda Krumwiede Johnson. She married Werner G. Theesfeld on Feb. 11, 1934, at Buckley. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James A. Theesfeld of rural Loda, and Owen E. Theesfeld of rural Buckley; a daughter, Eileen Hoke of Buckley; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons, three grandsons, three brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Theesfeld spent her childhood in the Loda and Buckley areas. She attended Loda Grade School and St. John's Lutheran School, Buckley.
She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of their dairy farm. She lived in rural Clarence for eight years and came to Buckley in 1949.
Mrs. Theesfeld was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, St. John's Ladies Aid and the Flying Noodle Club.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour.

Kathryn Theesfeld
Kathryn V. Theesfeld, 86, Rankin Terrace Apartments, Rankin, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30,. 1985, at Paxton Community Hospital.
She was born Dec. 29, 1898, at Gilman to Edward and Fannie Talsma Koets. She married Herman B. Theesfeld on March 25, 1920, at Gilman. He died July 31, 1981.
Survivors include three sons, Edward of Cissna Park, Roger of Rantoul and Herb of Rankin; three brothers, Peter, John and Almon Koets, all of Gilman; a sister, Josephine Zeedyk, Danforth; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Theesfeld attended Rankin United Methodist Church.
The Rev Harold Bodeen will officiate at services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Knapp Funeral Home, Rankin. Burial will be in Rankin Union Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in her name to Rankin United Methodist Church.

Funeral Saturday at Buckley for Wilhelmina Tholen
Mrs. Wilhelmina Tholen, 62, died at her home in Buckley early Wednesday morning after an illness of several weeks.
The deceased was born Oct. 25, 1884 at Buckley, the daughter of Henry and Carolina Krumwiede, and has been a lifelong resident of the community.
On Dec. 20. 1914, she was married to George Tholen, who survives. Three children survive; George Jr., Onarga; Edwin, at home, and Mrs. Esther Eheart, Onarga. One daughter, Erma, preceded her in death.
Also surviving are eight brothers; Louis, Martin, Henry, Herman, Fred and George Krumwiede, all of Buckley; Adolph, Cissna Park, and Carl, Onarga. Six sisters: Mrs. Hilda Eckoff, Mrs. Caroline Seggebruch and Mrs. Rose Weber, Onarga; Mrs. Lydia Teske, Buckley; Mrs. Alma Heimlich, Baraboo, Wis., and Mrs. Laura Walwer, Peoria. Three brothers, Emil, Edward and Ernst are deceased.
The deceased was a member of the St. John's Lutheran church at Buckley.
Funeral services will be held at the home Saturday at 1 p.m. and at St. John's Lutheran church, Buckley at 2 p.m. with the Rev. E.M. Goltermann officiating. Burial will be made at St. John's cemetery, Buckley.

JANET HARNESS TARMAN
Mrs. Janet Tarman, Milford, wife of Frank Tarman, died July 8, 1915 after an illness of several years due to lung trouble. Her maiden name was Harness and she is survived by her husband, mother, five sisters and three brothers. She was born in 1882.

Grover Cleveland Thurston, fifth child of Thomas J. and Sarah J. Flick Thurston, was born at French Lick, Indiana, October 21st, 1885 and died of lobar pneumonia at his home in Roberts, Illinois, April 26th, 1923, after an illness of six days. He belonged to a family of eight children, three of who and the father have preceded him in death. Nine years ago the deceased moved to Ford County, Illinois and since that time has lived in Roberts. He married Esther Maud Gullett of Roberts, Wednesday, September, 1915. Mr. and Mrs. Thurston are the parents of three children, William Thomas, Rosella Helen and Francis Earl. Mr. Thurston was brought up in the Christian Church and at the age of 17 was baptized and received into membership with the Rural Christian Church at French Lick. His mother says that he was a loving and dutiful son and that he took many burdens from her in the care of the family after the death of his father which occurred twenty-six years ago. He was always active in public affairs, was one of the strongest supporters of the Roberts Chautauqua, the Roberts Booster Club and all organization for closer association of business men and citizens of our community. He was of a jovial disposition and made many friends who join the family in sorrow at this time of bereavement. He leaves to mourn his death, the wife and children previously mentioned, the mother, Mrs. Sarah J. Thurston of French Lick, Indiana, one brother and three sisters, Mary Ellen Hamilton of Paoli, Indiana, Rosie Kellams of Newton Stewart, Indiana, Rosetta Flick of French Lick, Indiana, and Frank Thurston of Newton Stewart, Indiana. also a number of other relatives and numerous friends both in Indiana and this vicinity. The funeral service was held at the home, Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. John T. Killip and Rev. Jeanette O. Ferris officiating. The services at the grave were in charge of the Lyman Lodge No. 293, Knights of Pythias and Roberts Camp No. 2039, Modern Woodmen of America. There were about 120 members of these orders in line for the service. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were the mother and brother, Frank, before mentioned, Robert Gullett of Fulton, Missouri, Fred and Bert Chenneour of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mrs. Ernest Gullett of Omaha, Nebraska, Miss Hilda Kenward of Decatur, besides a large number for Cissna Park, Chatsworth Melvin, Piper City and other nearby places.

Mrs. M.W. THOMPSON
Martha Winslow Smith was born in Lexington, Ky., 1832, and died about midnight March 8, 1917, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.P. Glass, in Piper City, Ill. She was a representative of an old Virginia family. When a child she came with her parents to Brown county, Illinois. At the age of thirteen she joined the Christian church and was a devoted member thereof her whole life; but when living where there was no Christian church she attended any church convenient. For the past thirty years she attended the First Presbyterian church of Piper City when she was able. She married in 1852 to Amos R. Thompson, and to them were born nine children, seven of whom are living. Her husband died November 4, 1894, since which time she has made her home with her children. Following are the children: Mary, wife of Thomas Reed, now living in Oklahoma; A.C. who lives north of Piper City; J.A. now living in Chatsworth; Crozier T., living in Oklahoma; Ruth L., wife of William Sullivan, living in Oklahoma; B.S. living north of Piper City; Lottie C., wife of J.P. Glass, Piper City; Virginia A. Hand, who died in 1892; and William L., who died in infancy. All the children were with her during her last illness except Crozier, who was unable to make the journey. Mrs. Thompson also leaves to mourn her death twenty-seven grandchildren, one brother, Samuel S. Smith, of Rushville, Ill.; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Whitson, of Kansas City, Mo., who was with her during her last illness. Grandma Thompson, as she was familiarly known, was a woman of rare attainments. She spent her whole life working for the welfare of others. Although she raised a large family herself and under the most adverse cuicumstances, she always had time to minister to the (page is blurred here). But being overshadowed with years she has passed to that greater home where pain and sorrow are unknown. The sympathy of many friends was shown in the beautiful floral offerings. The funeral was conducted from the First Presbyterian church at two o'clock Saturday afternoon by Rev. M.C. Long of Streator, and burial was in Brenton cemetery. Among those attending from a distance were James Thompson and Arthur Voyer, Eureka, Ill.; Henry Burns, Mrs. Guy Slater and Miss Flora Slater, Cropsey; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fruin, Mr. and Mrs. John Fruin, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fruin and family, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Anderson, Mrs. Michael Clary and Mr. Roahr of Ashkum.

Melvin - R. Wendall Thackeray, age 53, of Melvin died at 8:07 a.m. Wednesday 2-26-1992 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. The Ford County Coroner's office attributed death to natural causes.

Burial was in Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston. Mr. Thompson was the son of the late Marvin Thompson and Audrey Thompson, former residents of the Paxton area. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; mother, Audrey; and two brothers, Richard of Hoopeston and James of Danville.

Aged 70, a former Paxton resident, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday 11-27-2002 at the Kankakee Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kankakee. Graveside services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Glen Cemetery, Paxton, with the Rev. Denis White officiating. Miss Thilmony was born 3-22-1932 at Paxton, the daughter of Peter J. and Helen Klein Thilmony. She graduated from Paxton High School, attended the University of AZ. one year and had one year of nurses training at Mercy Hospital, Urbana. She was a former member os St. Mary's Church in Paxton. Surviving are two sisters, Barbara Redden, Colorado Springs, Colo. and Ann J. Manns, Tuscon, AZ; several nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law, Gwen Thilmony Benoit and Bobbie Thilmony, both of Loda. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard Thilmony and Peter J. Thilmony. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Kankakee Valley or for Masses.

Barbara L. Trantina, 66, of Gibson City, formerly of Lockport, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday 1-21-2003 at her home in rural Gibson City. Her funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. George Catholic Church, Melvin, the Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation was from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, with the rosary recited at 8 p.m. Mrs. Trantina was born 10-24-1936 at Chicago, a daughter of Stanley and Josephine Medzylo Karkut. She married Robert J. Trantina on 1-15-1966 at Lockport. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert Trantina and Bernie (Jaimie) Trantina, both of Sibley; two daughters, Robin (Robert) Rigoni of Lockport and Mary (Tony) Angus of Sandwich; seven grandchildren; one brother Ed Karkut of Lockport; and two sisters, Josie Fleming of Urbana and Theresa Koskiewicz of Lockport. Her parents and one sister, Bernice Wolan, preceded her in death. Mrs. Trantina was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Melvin. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren.
