CLIFTON - Visitation for Irene A. Flott, 84, of Clifton, will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clifton, where she was a member. Rev. Lee Bacchi will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Clifton.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Flott died Monday (Oct. 30, 2000) at her home in Clifton after a sudden illness.
She was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Onarga, the daughter of Clarence and Edith Heisse Baker. Her parents are deceased.
Her husband, Shirley G. "Dude" Flott, whom she married July 9, 1938, in Clifton, died Sept. 22, 1994.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Mary Flott of Dwight, Bob and Sue Flott of Hoffman Estates; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Esther Christensen, Florine and Paul Jones, all of Tamarac, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Lorraine Wasmer of Clifton; and five grandchildren, Jeff, Dan, Amy, Carrie and David Flott.
One brother and two sisters are deceased.
She was a member of the CCW and a former long-time member of the Clifton Woman's Club.
Her hobbies were sewing and cooking

Sylvia Fritchley
ROBERTS - Sylvia Fritchley, 86, of Roberts died at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 1990 at Covenant Medical Center, Champaign.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Onarga Christian church, Rev. Logan Dunham officiating. Burial will be in Lyman Township cemetery, Roberts.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. todayat Knapp Funeral Home, Onarga, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.
Mrs. Fritchley was born Aug. 13, 1904, in Clay County, a daughter o fAndrew and Cora Crum Fillinger. She married Hallie Fritchley on March 16, 1921, at Newton. He died Sept. 15, 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Louise Krumwiede of Onarga; three sons, Everettt Fritchley of Republic, Kan., Marvin Fritchley of Cissna Park and Ronald Fritchley of Gainesville, Ga.; a stepsister Mildred Bailey of Hobbs, N.M.; two half sisters, Annabelle Reed of Monticello, Ind. and Blanche Tilstra of Arkansas; a half brother, Earl Byan of Elwood; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother and stepsister.
Mrs. Fritchley was a member of the Onarga Christian church.

Word was received here Monday of the death of August Peter Freitag of Sherburn, Minn., a former resident. The deceased is the brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. A. Krumwiede. August Freitag, well known and respected citizen of Sherburn for 46 years, passed away at his home on Friday, at the age of 85 years. He was born Nov. 1, 1861 in Coopers Grove, Cook Co., Ill. On Feb. 26, 1886, he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Krumwiede at Buckley. Mr. and Mrs. Freitag resided at Buckley untl 1900 when they moved to a farm in Elm Creek, Minn., where they resided for 11 years before moving to Sherburn. Until about ten years ago, Mr. Freitag was employed as towerman for the M. and St. L. Railroad. He was employed as towerman for twenty-one years. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Theo. of Sherburn, Wm. of Fairmont and Geo. of Los Angeles, Calif., also one brother Chas. of East Lynn, Mo.

Hallie Fritchley
Services for Hallie P. Fritchley, 84, of Roberts, were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 18th, at the Onarga Christian Church. The Reverend Logan Dunham officiated.
Mr. Fritchley died September 15th at Central Community Hospital in Clifton.
Interment was in the Lyman Cemetery, Roberts. Pallbearers were Gary Perkinson, Dwight Crowley, Robert Jardine, Lindell Fillinger, Bernard Irwin, and Raymond Schuler.

He was born January 1, 1901 (a one-year discripancy from family information) in Muddy Township, Ill., the son of Edward and Josephine Crum Fritchley. He married Sylvia Fillinger on March 16, 1921 in Newton.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Everett of Kankakee, Marvin of Cissna Park, and Ronald of Gainesville, Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Louise) Krumwiede of Onarga; one brother, Hansel fo Newton; one sister, Jessie Johnson, Roberts; 12 grandchldren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one brother.
He was a member of the Onarga Christian Church where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 18 with Rev. Logan Dunham officiating. Burial will be in Lyman Cemetery, Roberts.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Onarga.

James Fortner, 49, Milford farmer , died Friday at 5 :15 P.M. at his farm home southeast of Milford.
  The deceased, the son of Charles and Thuzah Smith Fortner, was born April 11, 1897 in Parke County In.
    He was married Feb. 6, 1926 to Helen Bowen. He had been a cobbler in Milford prior to his moving to the farm several years ago.
    Surviving are the widow, Three children, Opaline, Junior and Carl at home; a half-sister and two half brothers.
    Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday from the Barker Funeral Home in Milford. The Rev. Pearl Hasselbring officiated and burial was made in the Sugar Creek Cemetery.  (Contributed by Lucy)

Junior A. Fortner , 58, Milford, died at 6 A.M. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1987, at his home.
   He was born July 2, 1928, in Stockland Township, the son of James L. and Helen Bowen Fortner.
   Survivors include his mother, Helen of Milford: one sister, Opaline Rabe of Costa Mesa, Calif.; One brother, Carl , rural Watseka; two nephews and two nieces.
 He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
  Fortner lived in Stockland and Milford all his life and worked at Littlefuse Inc. at Watseka. He was a member of the Milford Christian Church and a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
  Funeral services will be at 1:20 P.M. Friday at Milford Christian Church with the Rev. Neil Larimore officiating. Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Chapel.
  Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at Barker Funeral Home, Milford, and for one hour prior to services at the church.

Milford Woman, Born Here 50 Years Ago Dies Last Monday at Home
Mrs. Sarah Ellen Frame, died Monday, Jan. 7th, at her home southwest of Milford. She had been ill for a number of weeks, at first having been stricken with ptomaine poisoning. she was very well known in the Milford community where she had for so long resided.
The funeral service in charge of Rev. Iver Johnson, was held yesterday afternoon at the Milford Christian church and was attended by many. Interment was in Maple Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Frame was born in Milford on July 28, 1873, and so at the time of her death was aged 50 years, 5 months and 9 days. She attended school here and was married Feb. 15, 1911 to Frank Frame. Four children, two of who are now dead, were born, Russell and Paul surviving. A son, Frank of Goodland, IN and two grandchildren also remain, besides 3 sisters and three brothers and, the mother, Mrs. Rebecca Harness. Since 1911 Mrs. Frame had resided on the farm.
She was a member of the Rebekahs and was interested in Sunday school and church work.
The announcement of the death of Mrs. Frame came with considerable surprise to many as she became bedfast Friday and passed away the following Monday. (Contributed by Cheryl)

Mary Lucille Farnsworth, 82, Ocala, Fla., formerly of Gibson City, died Tuesday 12-17-2002 at Ocala. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Randall Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Potomac Cemetery, Potomac. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Farnsworth was born 10-28-1920 in Carrollton, a daughter of Leven M. and Abbie L. Voorhees Dowdall. She married Harold M. Farnsworth 1-16-1954, at Carrollton. He survives. Also surviving are one sister, Virginia Brannan of Bloomington; one brother, Russell Dowdall of Morris; and one sister-in-law, Rosalie Dowdall of Bloomington. One brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Farnsworth was a member of the Gibson City United Methodist Church. She received her bachelor of science degree from Illinois State University and her master's degree from the University of Il. She taught school in East Alton for 12 years, and then began teaching in Gibson City in 1954, retiring in 1977. After retiring, she and her husband spent winters in Ocala. In July 2000 they moved permanently to Ocala. Mrs. Farnsworth was a lifetime member of the Retired Teachers Ass'n.; the Ford County Teacher's Ass'n; a member of the OES and the Gibson City Women's Club. Memorials may be made to her church or Gibson Area Hospital. Pallbearers were Leroy VanAntwerp, David Brannon, Gary Farnsworth, Brian Farnsworth, David Hood and Paul Engdahl.

Charles Kenneth Fackler, 49, of Gibson City, who was employed in the engineering department of M&W Gear Co., Gibson City for 23 years, and formerly of Colfax, died at 8:55 p.m. Monday, 10-26-1987 at his home. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Gibson City, with the Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp. Cemetery, Gibson City. She was born 3-12-1894 in McLean County, a daughter of Hans Peter and Anna K. Jensen Jensen. She married William Falvey on 11-5-1925 in Ludlow. He died in 1955. Survivors include one brother, Clarence Jensen, Valparaiso, Ind. One brother and one sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Falvey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gibson City and its Sunshine Sunday School class. She also was a member of the OES.

Lula K. Farris, 91, a Gibson City area resident all her life, died at 12:20 a.m. Monday 1-19-1981 at Gibson Community Hospital, Annex. Her funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home, Dr. James Bortell officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery. Pallbearers were Delmar Underwood, William Jensen, Don Jordan, Virgil Jordan, Richard Moody and Charles Leffler. Mrs. Farris was born 9-27-1889, in East Bend Township, a daughter of John and Katherine Knerr Sawyer. She married John "Jack" Farris 2-22-1917 near Dewey. He died 1-26-1964. Surviving are two sons, J.H. and Robert, both of Gibson City; two sisters, Grace Elkin and Lela Utterback, both of Gibson City; four grandchidren; and six great-grandchildren. Jack "J.H." Farris, age 70 of Gibson City died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, 11-10-1988 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. Born 1-14-1918 in rural Gibson City, he was the son of John H. and Lula Sawyer Farris. He married Verna Donner 1-28-1943 in Paxton and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Roger R. of Mount Vernon and Dennis D. of Elliott; five grandchildren; and one brother, Robert R. of Gibson City. He farmed all of his life in the Gibson City area and was a seed corn salesman for several years for Moews. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Gibson City. Gladys M. Fasking, 84, of Oak Lawn, died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday 6-23-1985 at Northwestern Hospital, Chicago. Mrs. Fasking was a former Gibson City resident. She had been employed for 44 years at Loy's Store when she retired in 1982. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Gibson City United Methdodist Church, the Reverend Randall Perry officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 tonight at the funeral home, Gibson City. Mrs. Fasking was born 5-18-1901, at Joliet, a daughter of Harry and Margaret Lee Perry Bulger. She married George Fasking 1-10-1923 at Gibson City. He died 11-1-1937. Survivors include a son, Walter "Cotton" of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Shirley Jackson, Oak Lawn and Marion Iserman, Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Beulah Reiners of Gibson City; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. An infant son, a daughter, a brother and two sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Fasking was a member of the Gibson City United Methodist Church, the Friendship Sunday school class of the church and the Scotland Club. She had lived in Oak Lawn two years.

She was born 9-26-1897, at Otwell, Ind., a daughter of John and Sara Riley Noles. She married Harvey E. Fawver on 1-24-1920 at Keenes. He died 9-13-1964. Survivors include one son, Jack H. (Mary Evelyn) Fawver, Gibson City; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, one brother, three sisters, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Fawver was a member of First Christian Church and the CWF of the church in Gibson City. She was a member of the Gibson City American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Fawver was a school teacher in Wayne City for many years. She also worked in retail sales in Gibson City for many years.

A. Violetta Feek, age 102, a Bloomington-Normal resident until 1961, died Friday, 12-10-1993 in Inverness, Florida. She will be cremated. A memorial service will be in Florida. A service will be at a later date in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. She was born 12-9-1891 in Saybrook, a daughter of Albert and Nora Arbogast Dotson. She married Robert Watson Feek in 1912 in Gibson City, he died in 1961. Survivors include a son, Robert Feek of Normal; two daughters, Mildred Brenning of Austin, Tx. and Marjorie Brady of Tavares, Florida; five grandchildren; and 14 great- ` grandchildren. Ora B. Ferguson, age 71, a Gibson City resident for 40 years, died at 9:55 p.m. Sunday 3-25-1990 at Covenant Medical Center, in Champaign (Urbana). His funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City with the Reverend Dick Cates officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. He married Mary Alma Hafley on 7-27-1929 at McLean. She died 2-3-1985. Survivors include one son, Ronald Ferguson of Gibson City; three brothers, Clint Ferguson, Heyworth; Ernest Ferguson, Horse Branch, Ky. and Shelby Ferguson, Indiana; two grandsons; and three great-grandsons. Mary Alma Ferguson, 72, died at 4:42 a.m. Sunday, 2-3-1985 at Gibson Community Hospital. Her funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. Dr. Hugh Reynolds officiated with burial in Drummer Twp. Cemetery, Gibson City. Pallbearers were John Loveless, David Schriber, Kenneth McRoberts, David Sullivan, Randy and Jim Ferguson. Mrs. Ferguson was born 10-22-1912, Danville, Ky., a daughter of Dave and Ruth Wilson Hafley. She married Marvin Ferguson 7-27-1929 at McLean. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Ronald, Gibson City; four sisters, Erma Sullivan and Pearl Schriber, both of Lincoln; Leona McCracken, San Diego; and Frances McRoberts, Atlanta; two grandsons; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Mrs. Ferguson was a resident of the Ellsworth - Arrowsmith area for many years. She moved to Gibson City in 1983. She was a member of Bethal Church, LeRoy, and the Old Town Township Homemakers.

Viola M. Finis, age 81 of Gibson City died at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday 10-21-1998 at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City. Mrs. Finis was born 6-30-1917 at Gibson City, a daughter of Claus William and Emma Clausen Hansen. She married Ralph Bernard Finis on 9-23-1938 at Gibson City. He preceded her in death on 1-11-1998. Mrs. Harriet Fitzpatrick, 76, died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday 4-8-1976 at the Gibson Community Hospital Annex where she had lived six years. Her funeral was held at the Lamb Funeral Home, the Rev. Elliott - Mrs. Martha Flick, 76, of Gibson City, died at 12 noon Friday (10-25-1946) in Gibson City after a long illness. She was the daughter of James and Ann Keziah Blackmore, born near Elliott 12-22-1869. She was married to A.B. Flick on 12-23-1891. He died in 1907. A son, James of Hume, Ohio survives. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Norma Dietz, Gibson City and Celia Johnson, Monticello; one sister, Helen Foster Kelley, Gibson City; and nine grandchildren. One son, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. Mr. Foster, for 19 years, was a member of the Farmers Grain Co. Board, serving 10 years as board president. He was a former member of the Ford Co. Soil Conservation Board for several years and was a member of the Gibson City Board of Education for 10 years. He also was a member of the Ford County Farm Bureau and the First Presbyterian Church of Gibson City.

Fox 8-12-1944 at Owensboro, Ky. He died 3-1-1983. Survivors include two sons, Michael Fox of Overland Park, Kan., and Eric Fox of Champaign; two brothers, Samuel and Douglas Grant, both of Owensboro, Ky.; one sister, June Owens of Nortonville, Ky.; and two grandchildren. W. THOMAS FRANCIS
W. Thomas Francis, 87, of Bloomington, formerly of Gibson City, died at 9:46 a.m. Sunday 12-26-1999 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Gibson City, the Rev. Kathleen Reichmann officiating. Private burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Mr. Francis was born on 4-14-1912 in Newark, Ohio, a son of Willard Thomas and Gertrude Webel Francis. He married Helen Leanna Roth on 8-30-1936 in Gibson City. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Willard Thomas Francis, West Bend, Wis., and one daughter, Jan Noble, Bloomington. Also surviving are four granddaughters, Susan Noble; Christine Noble; Hilary Meese; and Holly Francis; and two great- granddaughters, Kaylee Janiece and Haley Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. One niece also preceded him in death. Mr. Francis grew up in Ohio and attended Bluffton College in Bluffton, Ohio; receiving a BA in business. He moved to Gibson City in January of 1936. He was president and principal owner of Corn Belt Hatcheries of Illinois Inc. and Corn Belt Mills, both in Gibson City. He retired in 1978. Mr. Francis was instrumental in organizing the student loan fund. He helped organize the Gibson Community Chest. He was chairman of the Moyer Library Building Committee and president and board member for many years. He was also a board member and past president of the Lincoln Trails Library Board. He was a Gibson Community Hospital Board member for many years, serving as vice president and president from 1970 - 1982. In 1988, he was appointed Emeritus Director for Life. He chaired the fund drive for the Gibson Community Hospital Annex. He served many years in the Presbyterian Church, an elder for nine years. He taught Sunday school and was superintendent of the Sunday school. He was a past member of ministerial relations committee of the Bloomington Presbytery and a Stephen Minister. He was a member of the Lions Club for many years and a past president.

ELLEN (KIPER) FRIEBURG
Ellen Frieburg, age 71 of Gibson City died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday 10-21-1999 at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. October 26 at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with Reverend Rebecca Zelensky officiating. Burial in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Mrs. Frieburg was born 7-15-1928 at Normal, a daughter of Silas C. and Nora Mae Winchell Kiper. She married Stanley D. Frieburg on 2-18-1948 at Springfield. He preceded her in death on 9-19-1997. Survivors include one brother, Robert Kiper of Lake Bloomington; two sisters, Sylvia Jepson of Morris and Rena Beal of Normal and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie, in 1993 and one brother. A resident of the Gibson City area for most of her life, Mrs. Frieburg owned and operated a restaurant in Gibson City for several years. A member of the First Christian Church in Gibson City, she was also a member of the Hustlers Club of the church and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Gibson City Woman's Club, Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary, Gibson Hospital Auxiliary and the Home Extension. Constance "Connie" L. Frieburg, age 45 of rural Gibson City died at 7:28 a.m. Friday 4-9-1993 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. Death was due to natural causes. Pallbearers included Tom Eddleman, Bill Hoffman, Fred Punke, Franklin Punke, Bryan Shields and Tim Shields. She was born 11-16-1896 at Farmer, SD, a daughter of William and Minnie Dietrich Roth. She married Louis H. Friese on 12-14-1916 in Farmer, SD. He died 9-7-1973. Surviving are two sons, Arland, Leesburg, Florida and Raymond of Mesa, AZ.; two daughters, Eileen Smith of Gibson City and Dorothy Shields of Foosland; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. FRED C. FRY
Fred C. Fry, 76, of rural Cooksville, a retired decorator and horseman, formerly of Normal and Gibson City, died at 10:32 p.m. Sunday 6-21-1987 at St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center, Bloomington. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Randall Perry officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Fry was born 12-15-1910 at Stewardson, a son of James and Leona Davis Fry. He married Edith Karr on 12-4-1930 at Paxton. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Maurice of Hoffman Estates, and LeMoyne of Peoria; one daughter, Joan Franz of Crystal Lake; one brother, Rev. Russel Fry of Salem; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Two sons, one daughter and two sisters preceded him in death. After semi-retiring as a painting contractor, Mr. Fry, whose grandfather was a thoroughbred racehorse breeder and trainor in the Fisher - Gibson City area, moved in the early 1970's to a horse farm along Veteran's Parkway on the east side of Bloomington. At the farm, he kept horses for children who wanted to ride and whose parents couldn't afford the animals. Mr. Fry, whose father was a horse breeder and veterinarian, served as advisor to scores of 4-H Club members with horse and pony projects. He also was a breeder of champion Tennessee Walking Horses, including one world champion and Illinois State Fair Class winners. In October 1984, the Frys moved to Cooksville when the horse farm was purchased for real estate development. He was a Methodist.

Evert Milton Frykman, age 84 of Gibson City died at 9:18 a.m. Saturday 4-17-1993 at Gibson Community Hospital in Gibson City. His funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with the Reverend Dane Meuschke officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation was from 10 - 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. He was born 3-30-1909 at Gibson City, a son of Magnus and Amanda Olson Frykman. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters. Mr. Frykman was a retired clerk for the Nickel Plate Railroad and a member of the American Lutheran Church in Gibson City. Memorials may be made to the church or to the Gibson Community Hospital.

HARRIETT MARIE (WALLACE) FRYKMAN
Mrs. Harriett Marie Frykman, 75, Arrowsmith, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday 11-25-1975 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Bloomington. Funeral services were held Friday Nov 28 at the Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Skillrud officiating. Burial was in the Gibson City Cemetery. She was born 12-15-1899 in Farmer City, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wallace. She married Paul L. Frykman 4-24-1938 in Bloomington. Her husband was the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. M. Frykman, former pastor of the Swedish Lutheran Church in Gibson City; and a brother of Mrs. Hildur Johnson, Gibson City; Verner Frykman, Lima, Ohio and Milton Frykman, Gibson City. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and one brother. She has been an Arrowsmith resident since 1940. She taught public schools in Ellsworth and Lowpoint.

DORIS ANN (HITT) FUNK
Doris Ann Funk, 49, a Gibson City resident for 22 years, died at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday (9-8-1981) at Decatur Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for a month. She had been ill for 1-1/2 years. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Reese Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Funk was born 1-18-1932 in Towanda, a daughter of Herman and Margaret Cahill Hitt. She married Olen Funk 11-4-1952 in Springfield. He died 2-9-1980. Survivors are a son, Bruce of Urbana; five daughters, Peggy Edwards, Bloomington; and Linda, Cindy, Carla and Dori Lee Funk all at home; her mother, Gibson City; two sisters, Mary Bridges, Lincoln, Ark.; and Donna Moore Albuquerque, NM; and a son, Marvin R. Hitt, Crystal Lake. Her father, a brother and a sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Funk formerly was a member of the Bloomington VFW Auxiliary.

Robert Scott Fentress, age 65 of Gibson City died at 8:31 a.m. 10-16-2001 at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday October 19, at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with the Reverend Randall Robinson officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation was from 6 - 8 p.m. October 18 at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Don Follick, Steve Follick, Aaron Nettleton, Brian Nettleton, Eric Nettleton and Justin Nettleton. Mr. Fentress was born 8-18-1936 at Kingswood, KY a son of Wayne S. and Geraldean Phelps Fentress. Survivors include five sons, Michael Fentress and Rick Fentress of Eau Claire, MI; Robert Fentress, Jr. of Eldorado and William Fentress of El Dardo; five daughters, Teri Fentress, Rita Fentress and Tammy Bardwell, all of St. Charles, MO, Sue (Don) Follick of Cooksville and Kitty Krause of Las Vegas, NV; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Jo Nettleton of Gibson City; two step-brothers, Rodney Reynolds of Hartford KY and Larry Reynolds of McHenry and one step-sister, Betty Givens of McHenry. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Mr. Fentress lived in Texas before moving to Gibson City 10 years ago. He was a paratrooper veteran of the Army. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Gibson City.

Mr. Fields was born 6-28-1911 at Gibson City a son of Samuel Jackson and Mary E. Thomas Fields. He married Edna Veral Burton who preceded him in death. Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Ann Abrahamser (Alfred) of San Francisco, Ca.; three sisters, Anna Jean Pettiford of Springfield, Ertha Mary Hubbard (Lyman L.) of Springfield and Barbara Haynes of Chicago; one grandchild, Michele Abrahamser; and two great- grandchildren, Neima Weigel and Christian Abrahamsen, all of San Francisco, Ca. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Fields was special education teacher in Elgin and Springfield. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Kappa Alpha Psi Beta Chapter of Champaign Urbana, Mason Lone Star 18 in Champaign, Consistory 27 JHK in Omaha, NE, 5295 Imperial Counsel AFA Order of Nobles of Mistic Shrine North and South America and Jurisdiction, life member of DAV of Champaign City 8.

PETER V. FOURNIER, 60, 761 Kennedy Drive, a resident of Kankakee for 51 years, died at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Hospital following a four day illness. Born Sept. 24, 1910 at Spring Valley, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emile Fournier, he was employed for 44 years by the Kroehler Manufacturing Co. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a member of Local 237 Upholsters Union. His wife, the former Stella Regnier, whom he married in 1937, died May 6. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Paul Keigher of Manteno; sisters, Mrs. Albert Hyrup and Mrs. George Brosseau, both of Kankakee, Mrs. Edward Barrie of Bourbonnais; brothers, Victor Fournier and Emile Fournier, both of Kankakee, and four grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Cheryl Lynn Fournier, six week old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward V. Fournier of Bourbonnais, died Wednesday at Wyler Children's Hospital in Chicago. She was born Aug. 24, 1968 in Kankakee. Surviving in addition to her parents are a brother Steven at home, paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Victor Fournier of Kankakee, maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Smith, Bourbonnais, and the maternal great-grandmother Mrs. Gladys Gift, Bourbonnais. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Maternity Catholic Church. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation at the Senesac Funeral Home will be Friday from 7 to 9.

Visitation for Rachel J. Fortin, 91 355 S. Winfield Ave., Kankakee, will be at the Schreffler Funeral Home, Kankakee chapel, from 3-8 p.m. today. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Church by the Rev. Lloyd Bowden. The daughter of Remi and Josephine Bosman Vassen, she was born June 19, 1893, in Coal City. Her husband, Franklin Fortin, whom she married in 1920, in Wagon Mound, N. Mex., died in 1954. A homemaker, Mrs. Fortin was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the St. Anne Sodality of the parish. Survivors include two sons, Raymond E. of Kankakee and Franklin A. Jr. of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Raphealla Reynolds of Galesburg, nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Emile of Kankakee and three sisters, Irene Roy of Kankakee, Helen Chadwick of Winter Park, Fla. FRANKLIN A. FORTIN, 58, Dies At Work;
Service Monday

Franklin Alfred Fortin, 58, died of a heart ailment at 6:30 a.m. today at Florence Stove Co. He had been employed at the company for the past 16 years as a fireman. The body is at the Senesac Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday and until time of services. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Rose Church and burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A World War I veteran, Mr. Fortin was a member of American Legion post 85, of Kankakee, which will accord full military honors at graveside. Born Aug. 4, 1896, in Albuquerque, N. Mex., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Napoleon Fortin. A resident of Kankakee the past 35 years, Mr. Fortin lived at 355 S. Winfield Ave. He was married in 1920 to Rachael Vassen, who survives, with a daughter, Raphela, at home; sons, Franklin A. Jr. and Raymond, of Kankakee; and one grandchild. Two sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Fortin was secretary-treasurer of Local 296, International Brotherhood of Firemen and Oilers. The Kankakee fire department and county inhalator were called to the Florence Stove Co. when Mr. Fortin was Stricken.

VICTOR FOURNIER
Victor Fournier, 74, 539 N. Adams St., died at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Fournier was born May 6, 1904, in Lievin, France, to the late Mrs. and Mrs. Emile Fournier. He was married on Aug. 17, 1926, in St. Stanislaus Church to the former Alice Usewicz. He lived in Kankakee for 70 years and was a retired employee of the New York Central Railroad, for which he had worked as a car inspector for 30 years. He was a member of the Retired Railroad Employees Association and the Credit Union of the New York Central Railroad. Surviving Mr. Fournier are his wife; two sons, Donald of Kankakee and Edward of Bourbonnais; a daughter, Linda Hopper of Kankakee; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother, Emile of Kankakee and three sisters, Lucille Hyrup and Vivian Brosseau of Kankakee and Marie Barrie of Bourbonnais. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Clancy Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today and preceding the services Monday. The rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today.

Drowned Man Identified;
RICHARD J. FORTIN

Kankakee firemen, assisted by two members of the Kankakee River Patrol, recovered the body Monday of a 33-year-old Kankakee State Hospital patient who apparently jumped into the Kankakee River from the Schuyler Avenue bridge. Dead is Richard J. Fortin, 33, 665 S. Cannon Ave. EMERGENCY UNITS were called to the scene after a caller reported seeing someone jump from the bridge and "bobbing around in the water." The call came at 11:21 a.m. Monday. Fireman Samuel Adwell and John Ferren, assisted by Sgt. Hugh Hutson and Gerald Yarneau of the river patrol, began dragging operations immediately. Fortin's body was recovered 12 feet from shore and 20 feet from the bridge, at about 12:30 p.m. Monday. THE SON of Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Fortin, he was born March 19, 1938 at Beaverville. He served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1963 and had lived in Kankakee for 26 years. Survivors include in addition to his parents of Kankakee; sisters, Mrs. Shirley Andreina of Bourbonnais, Mrs. Claire Koplinski, Miss Karen Fortin both of Kankakee and Mrs. Marilyn Kurowski of Littleton Colo.; brothers, Lonny Fortin and Leslie Fortin both of Kankakee and Terry Fortin of Chicago. FUNERAL SERVICES will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose Lima Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation at the Senesac Funeral Home will be from 2 to 10 p.m. Wednesday. Ansel H. Fortin, 73, of 665 S. Canon Ave. Kankakee, died Thursday afternoon at Riverside Medical Center, following a sudden illness. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today at Senesac Kankakee Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. until the time of services. Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home to St. Rose of Lima Church at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Lloyd Bowden will officiate. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. He was born Nov. 15, 1911, in St. Anne, to Eddie C. and Lucina Castongia Fortin. He was married to Cecille R. Pombert on Nov. 22, 1933, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Beaverville. He was a 40-year resident of Kankakee, moving from Beaverville in 1945. He attended school in Beaverville and Watseka. Mr. Fortin was a retired dispatcher from the Yellow Cab Co., Kankakee, where he had worked 25 years. He was also employed by the Kanakee Valley Park District and Raco Security Services, Bradley. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Terry of Oxnard, Calif., Lonny of Rochelle, and Leslie of Chebanse; four daughters, Shirley Andreina of Bourbonnais, Marilyn Kurowski of Littleton, Colo., Claire Koplinski and Karen Leader of Chicago; 15 grandchildren; one brother, Chester of Valparaiso, Ind.; and four sisters, Velma Schenk of Kankakee, Margaret Mize of Hazel Crest, Vivian Lovelass of Watseka, and Gertrude Surprenant of Chebanse. Two sons, Richard and Howard, are deceased. Memorials may be made in his name to St. Rose of Lima Church.

MRS. EDNA FORTIN, 82, Dies;
Funeral Rites Monday

Mrs. Edna Fortin, 82, of Orlando, Fla., died Friday at the home of a niece, Florence Gousset, 20 Main St., Bourbonnais with whom she resided recently. Mrs. Fortin lived in Kankakee when young and later married Arthur Fortin in Sioux City, Iowa where they lived several years. They later lived in Chicago. Mr. Fortin died about nine years ago and she moved to Florida six years ago. Three weeks ago she moved to Bourbonnais to live with her niece. Mrs. Fortin was born May 4, 1872, in Canada. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Pierce of Orlando. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in Maternity Church, Bourbonnais. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hickey Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited there at 7:30 p.m. today.

Rites Monday In Bradley For ARMAND FORTIN

Armand Herman Fortin of 235 North Fulton avenue, Bradley, part owner of the former Fortin Brothers garage, which was the first in Kankakee, died at 4 a.m. Friday in St. Mary hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Joseph church in Bradley, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the Hickey funeral home until time of services. Mr. Fortin was born March 6, 1889 in Kankakee where he has lived all of his 61 years. George and Armand Fortin organized the Fortin Brothers garage which first occupied the site where the Big Bear store now stands. Here the brothers ran a bicycle shop. Later a buggy shop was opened by the Fortins at the spot where Christiansen Auto Parts shop now operates. Later their own garage was built where the Close Motor sales is now located. Until recently Mr. Fortin has been employed at the David Bradley Manufacturing works. On May 10, 1910 at St. Rose church the deceased was married to Bertha LaMontagne. She died in 1944. Surviving are three daughters Mrs. Genevieve Mulligan, Mrs. Florence Mulligan and Mrs. Tehima Alwine, all of Bradley. Other survivors are seven grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Jenny Durand of Fort Wayne, Ind. His brother George, preceded him in death two years ago. The daughters of Isabella of Bradley will meet at the Hickey funeral home at 7 p.m. Sunday to recite prayers for the deceased.

LUCY A. ROBBINS FRANKLIN
Lucy A Franklin was born in Warren County, Indiana, March 8, 1835, and died at her home in this place Sunday night April 30, 1905 at 12 a.m. She was united in marriage to John Franklin, December 4, 1852. To this union were born 8 children , five of whom are living. Soon after their marriage she with her husband came to this county, about 4 miles southwest of Brook, where they lived until they moved here fourteen years ago, where was she called upon to give up her husband seven years ago last January. Eleven years ago she with her husband joined the United Brethren church and has lived a consistent Christian until called home. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Mrs. Noble, was held in the U. B. church Wednesday ater noon at two o'clock after which the remains were interred in the Roberts Cemetery. Following is a biographical history of the Franklin Family, compiled under the direction of Uncle John a number of years before his death. John Franklin is the son of John and Elanor (Riggs) Franklin. His father was born in Virginia and his mother in Pennsylvania. The parents moved to Ross County, Ohio in 1797. His father was a farmer. The subject of this sketch was born Sept. 5, 1818. When he was twelve years of age, his father died and his mother removed to Randolph County, Indiana, where he worked on a farm until twenty two years of age. He then went West, remaining away about six years, then came to Warren County where he farmed. On December 4, 1852, he married Lucy a. Robbins, born March 8, 1835, a daughter of James H. and Sarah (Sage) Robbins, who were among the very earliest settlers of Indiana. After his marriage, Mr. Franklin located on eighty four acres of land in Sec. 36, Washington Township, Newton County. he broke the land and in a wagon hauled the lumber from Chicago with which to build the house. To them were borne eight children– Jerome, Born December 29, 1853; Sarah E. , September 1, 1856; Joseph W. and James H. Twins, December 21, 1858 ( deceased); Alonzo N., October 8, 1860; Phebe O. Oct. 17, 1862 (deceased); Charles B. March 27, 1864; and Laura E., November 27, 1867/ In 1853 he was elected township trustee. In 1856, his house as destroyed by fire, but was immediately rebuilt. He was the owner of 300 acres, and a general farmer and stock raiser. All of the children were present at the funeral services. Besides the five living children there are 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Relatives from a distance were a brother H. H. Robbins of Kansas, and son, A. L. of Hutchinson, Kansas, and daughter, Sarah Baker also of Kansas.
